“Colore is a short 12-tone piece for piano composed by my father’s mentor, Luigi Dalla Piccola. Colorando is a set of two variations on the Colore theme composed by my dad (David) in 2022. When he first played it for me, I was struck by the similarities between this atonal music and abstract visual art. This is the result. Additionally, my father orchestrated Colorando for 10 wind instruments, and this image will serve as the cover for the physical score and parts.“
